In this guide, we’ll walk you through the setup process of our first ScreenCloud OS device, the Station P1, how to provision your USB flash drive, as well as answer some frequently asked questions about the ScreenCloud OS device.

Section I: How to Set up Your ScreenCloud OS Device
1.1. First, unpack your ScreenCloud OS device and its accessories.
Besides the ScreenCloud OS device, you will find a Wi-Fi antenna, HDMI cable, 12V-2A (US plug) power adapter, and 2mm L-shaped Allen wrench.
1.2. Next, prepare to connect your ScreenCloud OS device to the internet. Note that the ScreenCloud OS device only supports 2.4 GHz Wifi, so make sure that you enabled this option on your network.
The ScreenCloud OS device supports both wireless and wired connections. If you want to connect your ScreenCloud OS device to a Wi-Fi network, attach the included Wi-Fi antenna.
If you want to connect your ScreenCloud OS device to a wired network, connect your Ethernet (LAN) cable to the Ethernet (LAN) port at the back of your ScreenCloud OS device.
1.3. Next, connect your ScreenCloud OS device to a display of your choosing. You have the option of using either the HDMI port or DisplayPort over USB-C connections.
If you want to connect your ScreenCloud OS device to a display via HDMI, connect one end of the included HDMI cable to the HDMI port at the back of your ScreenCloud OS device and the other end to the HDMI port to your TV or display.
If you want to connect your ScreenCloud OS device to a display via DisplayPort over USB-C, connect the USB-C end of a USB-C to DisplayPort cable (not included) to the USB-C port at the front of your ScreenCloud OS device, and the DisplayPort end of the cable to the DisplayPort port on your TV or display.
Please note that the ScreenCloud OS device currently only supports 1 display at up to 4K resolution at a time.
We have included an HDMI cable in the box for your convenience, but if you need to use a different one, make sure to only connect the ScreenCloud OS device to your display using a Standard or High-Speed HDMI cable.
Do not use a Standard or High-Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet (LAN), as it can cause issues in the event there is a power cycle. For more information on which are the best HDMI cables to use with your ScreenCloud OS device.
1.4. Next, power on your ScreenCloud OS device. Plug the included 12V-2A (US plug) power adapter into your power source and then plug the other end to your Station P1.
Please note, if you want to plug the 12V-2A (US plug) power adapter into a power source that does not have a US plug, you will need a power plug adapter (not included).
1.5. After powering on your ScreenCloud OS device, select the channel that matches the input your ScreenCloud OS device into to get started.
1.6. Now you will have to create a provisioning USB flash Drive to configure your ScreenCloud OS device. To learn how to provision your USB flash drive, follow along in step 2 below.
2. How to provision your USB flash drive
The first step in setting up your ScreenCloud OS device is to create a provisioning USB flash drive. This USB flash drive will help connect the ScreenCloud OS device to your network. You can use this USB flash drive to provision as many ScreenCloud OS devices as you like, as long as they are on the same type of connection in the same network. Simply insert the USB flash drive and voila, your device is set up.
Please note that you will need a FAT formatted USB flash drive that does not come in the box. 2.1. Now that you have the USB flash drive ready, connect it to your computer and open a browser to type in this link:
2.2. You will be presented with the ScreenCloud OS configuration generator website below. This is where you will provision your USB flash drive. To begin select "Got it, Let's start!"
2.3. You will have the option to configure your provisioning USB flash drive for either Wi-Fi or Ethernet (LAN) connection. If you select Wi-Fi, go ahead and enter in your Network Name (SSID). Many routers provided by internet services list the default SSID or "Network Name" next to a bar code usually on the bottom or side of the router.
If you select Ethernet (LAN), there is no need to enter in an SSID as your device will connect to the Wi-Fi automatically.
2.4. Next, you will need to configure your network information. Select the type of network authentication you would like to use.
Basic Authentication uses a WPA/WPA 2 personal network which functions by using a shared key or password authentication to access the network.
Enterprise Authentication uses a WPA/WPA2 enterprise network which is another form of authentication that requires a unique password per user to connect to the network. This provides greater security and is typically used in larger businesses or universities. The benefit of using an enterprise network is that you can easily disable a user's name and password in the database if a security breach is found.
2.5. Next, make sure to toggle "Yes" if you would like to hide your network SSID, if not toggle "No".
2.6. You will then be prompted to enter your network password if you selected to use a Wi-Fi network. If you are using an Ethernet (LAN) network, continue to the next step below.
2.6. Next, select your timezone. This step is crucial as your time zone will determine whether or not your scheduled content will be synchronized and ensures the proper configuration of your apps.
2.7. If necessary, select “Advanced” and input your proxy, NTP details, or Certificates if needed.
2.8. After you've completed filling in your network information, select the "Generate Configuration" button at the bottom of the page to output your configuration file.
Once the file downloads, move it to the root folder of your USB flash drive and save the file to the root directory of your USB flash drive.
Please note: The file copied to the USB flash drive must be named scosprov.json. If you download numerous copies such as scosprov(1).json, please be sure to remove the numbers as your Station P1 will not recognize the file.
Secondly, If you are using a firewall, please refer to the link to learn how to whitelist the domain that ScreenCloud needs for it to work.
2.9. Now that you are done provisioning your USB flash drive, go ahead and provision your ScreenCloud OS device. Unplug your USB flash drive from your computer and plug it into your ScreenCloud OS device.
2.10. Your ScreenCloud OS device will automatically start the provisioning process, setting your network configuration, as well as checking to see if there is a new version of ScreenCloud OS available, and if there is it will download it and update your ScreenCloud OS device. This process should not take you more than a few minutes.
