In this guide we will cover how to update to the latest version of ScreenCloud OS using a micro SD card provided by ScreenCloud’s support team. In the scenario that you receive a pre-prepared micro SD card from our team, know that it will be loaded with our SD Updater tool, which makes it easy to update your ScreenCloud OS device without any additional accessories like a keyboard or mouse.
You will need
- A ScreenCloud OS device that you want to update
- A pre-prepared micro SD card with the latest version of ScreenCloud OS
What to do
Before you start, we recommend moving your device from being your display and moving it to a space where it will be easy to work with. Make sure this space is next to a display, and before moving on to the next steps, connect your device to the display with the HDMI cable.
First, remove the power cable from your device to turn your device off.
Next, insert the pre-prepared micro SD card into the micro SD card slot. You’ll want to bend the WiFi antenna down in order to access the micro SD card slot more easily.
Next, plug in the power cable into your device to turn your device on.
Once you turn your device on, you should see on your display that the update process has started.
When the update process is complete you will see a message at the bottom that says “Update complete” and “Remove SD-card now”.
As the update process is complete, remove the power cable from your device to turn your device off.
Next, remove the micro SD card from the micro SD card slot by pushing it in so that it pops out.
Once the micro SD card is removed, plug in the power cable into your device to turn your device on.
Your device will turn on and should start up and show your content correctly on your display.
