This article will instruct you on how to display GIFs on your ScreenCloud screens, as simply uploading GIFs to your media library is not viable as the file converts to JPG when it is uploaded to your media library. We'll be going through the 4 different methods you can use to display GIFs on your digital screens.
Table of contents:
1. Converting your GIF to an mp4
This method requires that you have the GIF file stored on your computer.
You can either convert your media with software you have on your computer, or find an online media converter like ezgif to make the change for you.
2. Using Microsoft OneDrive app
Usually used to show a gallery of images, the OneDrive app can also be used to display GIFs without any issues. This step requires that you a OneDrive account that that you have the file stored in your OneDrive media library.
Please see our Microsoft OneDrive app guide to learn how to connect to your OneDrive account and add files.
3. Using Embed app
This method requires an online source, and for our example we shall be using Giphy, a GIF sharing online library where you can upload your own GIFs.
When selecting you GIF, please select and copy the Embed code of the file.
Simply inputting the embed code in the Embed app will allow you to display the animation.
4. Using Playgrounds app
Similar to the Embed app, the Playgrounds app requires you to collect the embed code of your GIF file.
