How to set up Microsoft 2FA for Dashboards [Video]

by James Donaghy

If your organization uses Microsoft 2FA to login to your required Dashboard, then you'll require an Account name and Secret Key from Microsoft to input during your Dashboard configuration.

Here's a video on how to get those credentials:

Now that we have our credentials, let's set up our Dashboard. Please follow the steps below to learn how to do this.

Step 1: Download the Google Authenticator app on your mobile phone. You can also use the Microsoft authenticator app, however you'll still need to follow the steps in the video above when getting your secret key, and select 'I want to use a different authenticator app'. The reason for this is that there are two different types of secret key format, and the instructions above will give you the correct one. But once you have the correct secret key, you can use the Microsoft authenticator app to create your account.

Step 2: Once you have your Account name and Secret Key from Microsoft, store those credentials somewhere safe.

Step 3: Add an account in your Google or Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile phone, and enter your Account name and Secret Key.

Step 4: Go to ScreenCloud and set up your Dashboard as normal.

Step 5: Once you've finished recording your journey, navigate to the Dashboard configuration step where you'll see an error message, indicated below:

Step 6: Enter a credential name and your secret key in the fields below:

Step 7: Click 'Save', and then 'Save and Preview' top right. Wait for the Dashboard to load. Once it loads, successfully, the Dashboard is ready to display on your screens.
